SPACE PLANNING

The planning of internal spaces is important to insure the space meets the requirements of the user or inhabitant. Interior spaces of a building have to be carefully planned and designed to get optimum usage of the space available. The goal is to have no dead spaces. Dead spaces are financially draining and useless. By acquiring the correct requirements from the inhabitant, designing the spaces to best suit, should result in optimum space usage. No matter the function of a space, whether it is for corporate, retail, hospitality or domestic use, all spaces go through a planning phase in order to be functional and successful.

Surveys of existing furniture are carried out to gain knowledge and aid in the planning and designing of a new space available or to make the current space more functional and user friendly. The user of a space requires easy access and sufficient space to interact within the space. Each individual space has design limitations and it is I, as a designer that aims to overcome challenges and design spaces that are functional and aesthetically pleasing to the user and inhabitant.
